| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
 |
Raymond Walters College is a two-year, open admission college of the University of Cincinnati. The commuter campus is located in suburban Blue Ash, and draws students from Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties.
The college offers both transfer-oriented and career-oriented programs, most leading to an associate degree, in more than 65 academic majors. In additional, the college offers professional certificate programs for students who have already earned bachelor's degrees. Through the college's Residence Credit Center, students may take upper-level and graduate classes on the RWC campus. UC colleges currently offering these classes in Blue Ash are the College of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Nursing and Health.
The College's facilities are growing to meet student needs. In 1999 the Science and Allied Health Building opened, along with an outdoor commons for students. In 2001-2002, new computer labs, an expanded library, tutoring labs and a new One Stop area housing admissions, financial aid, registration, cashier, and testing were all renovated. Currently, plans are underway to build another new facility to accomodate our growth in technology.
The average age of Raymond Walters College students is 28; almost 70 percent of the students are female. Minorities represent more than 14 percent of the total enrollment and continues to grow. More than half of RWC students attend classes part-time, and most work while in school.
Raymond Walters College opened in 1967 with an initial enrollment of 632 students. While today RWC is the largest branch campus in the state of Ohio, it maintains the qualities of a small campus. The average class size is fewer than 20 students.
Raymond Walters College is named for Dr. Raymond Walters, president of the University of Cincinnati from 1932 to 1955. |
