Bluffton University is a liberal arts university in northwestern Ohio founded in 1899 by regional leaders of the General Conference Mennonite Church and is today affiliatated with Mennonite Church USA. Shaped by that historic peace church tradition and nourished by a desire for excellence in all phases of its programs, Bluffton seeks to prepare students of all backgrounds for life as well as vocation, for responsible citizenship, for service to all peoples and ultmiatley for the purposes of God's universal kingdom. Bluffton University is in Bluffton, Ohio, a progressive town of 3,800 in the heart of a prosperous agricultural area. The university campus lies on 234 acres of rolling land, partially covered with a natural forest of oak, elm, beech, buckeye, maple and more than 100 varities of trees. Primarily a residential community midway between Lima, and Findlay on Interstate 75, a 90 minute drive from airports at Toledo and Dayton.

Bluffton University is a liberal arts university. In addition to courses in the major field of study, the liberal arts and sciences program provides an integrated program of general education for all students. Bluffton currently grants four degrees: the bachelor of arts, the master of arts in education, the master of arts in business administration, and the master of arts in organizational management. Programs that are unique to Bluffton are the Cross-cultural/Service Learning Experience, the Honors program, the Technology Learning Circles and our 15-week long study abroad program in Northern Ireland. It is a residential program which seeks to increase understanding of the complexitites of the conflict in Northern Ireland. |
